RAEX has released a new ESG ranking of the Russian business “Top 50 Climate”. The ranking includes non-financial companies in Russia that show the greatest attention to their direct climate impact.

RAEX has released a new ESG ranking of the Russian business “Top 50 Climate”. The ranking includes non-financial companies in Russia that show the greatest attention to their direct climate impact.

The main goals of the RAEX Top-50 Climate ranking are to contribute to the development of the climate agenda in Russia. The project will help to understand the current development and importance for Russian business of the topic of combating climate change, to find guidelines and determine the main actions to protect it.

The top ten RAEX Top-50 Climate list is represented by gold mining companies (Polyus, Polymetal), agricultural chemistry (PhosAgro), energy (Unipro, RusHydro), metallurgy (NLMK, Severstal) and oil production (Lukoil, " Tatneft, Rosneft).

Leading companies whose practices can be recommended as examples are Polyus and PhosAgro. In terms of greenhouse gas emissions, NLMK and Uralkali should be added to the examples.

RAEX Top-50 Climate shows that the climate agenda has received the greatest development among the sectors with the highest greenhouse gas emissions: Metallurgy and Mining, Oil and Gas, Energy, and Chemistry.

In the future, the agency plans to continue publishing thematic ESG rankings of RAEX Top-50 series based on company assessments conducted using an open methodology.
